This contributes to the development of social-emotional skills in both staff and children and adolescents. Participants in this workshop will: - Gain an understanding of their actions and reactions to child/youth behaviors and develop the ability to apply this knowledge more effectively while interacting with children/youth; - Develop an understanding of effective behavior guidance tactics ____________________________________________________________________________ Workshop Overview: *Participants will analyze how their own actions and reactions influence and contribute to the behaviors of the children and adolescents with whom they work. What's My Temperature? *Participants react to scenarios to indicate their personal triggers for behavior when working with children and teens. Additionally, participants will explore predicted behaviors at various developmental stages, which will prepare staff to address proper behavior guidance strategy implementation. Continuum of Behavior Guidance: *Using the Continuum of Behavior Guidance, participants review or are introduced to methods, provide examples, and discuss times when they have employed the strategy. Participants use scenarios to rehearse their responses to various situations.
